Patch notes: challenge a friend

From Inferno, teacher of fire

Well now. Some of y’all only play when your friends are online at the same time. That ends today, Kindling. Now you can throw down a round whenever you like, and let them come find out how hot it was.

In the game

  • Challenge a friend. In Multiplayer, choose a round (any Endless or Time Attack, reactions on or off if you’ve earned them), play it, then send it as a link. It’s the very same round for everyone who opens it: same tiles, same rows rising, in the same order.
  • Taking one on. Your friend plays with your round replaying right beside theirs, and the score to beat up top. No pushes, just a straight race. Anyone with an account can take a challenge; sending one comes with multiplayer.
  • Every challenge has its own leaderboard, player names and scores. Watch any round you’re allowed to, side by side with the challenger’s, at up to four times the speed. Your own run stays private unless you choose to let others watch.
  • Recorded challenges. A new page of rounds players have chosen to share. Watch them, or take them on yourself.
  • Optional: post your challenge score to the high scores too.
  • Challenges stay open for 30 days, then they’re gone, replays and all. The game terms have a new line about them, so you’ll be asked to agree once more.

I’ve seen a few of your rounds already, Hot Shot. Send me a good one.
